Hole In One 11-19-09
Saturday, November 28, 2009 | 8:06 pmJust wanted to post this. On November 19 I was playing golf at my Home Course, Rogues Roost in Bridgeport. After bogeying the 1st hole I got on track and parred 2,3,4. I teed up on 5 and smashed a drive( the best ball I have hit in years). My Skycaddie read 310 yds. The wind was at my back as I watched this ball sail. A large leafless tree on the right edge of the fairway was my target with a light draw due to the wind. I watched the ball go over that tree and then lost it. I knew it was close to the green, about 40 yds out. As I looked for the ball I got frustrated cause I knew it should be in the fairway. I dropped and chipped up to about 10 feet for birdie. I grabbed my putter, walked to the green and pulled the flag. When I move the flag I saw my tee shot in the hole. I was in shock, I screamed out loud, looked around for someone to witness this thing and saw noone. I texted the course manager to see what I should do, texted my wife to brag, and then realized I had no witness for the shot of my life. Noone has to believe me or pat me on the back, I just know that the shot was unbelievable because I hadn’t it a ball over 260 carry all year. This ball somehow went 310. Did it hit a root, sprinkler, a rock? I don’t know, but it was in the hole. I will cherish the moment and I did order the plaque witness or not. Let the golf gods be my witness . As for the rest of the round, I birdied #6, bogeyed 7,8 and parred 9 for a 1 under 34. What a day. I did buy the manager a drink when I got into the clubhouse so I guess that makes it official, at least for me.
